Stories for small dragons
and the people who love them
The Beatrix Series
Four gentle adventures about a very small dragon discovering that the smallest things can hold the biggest courage.
Beatrix wishes she were bigger, braver, more impressive — until she meets someone even smaller. A story about finding your own kind of brave.
When a summer storm floods the garden, Beatrix must help her friends find shelter — and discovers courage she didn't know she had.
Beatrix can't sleep. She ventures into the moonlit garden and learns that night has its own quiet magic — and she's not the only one awake.
The garden transforms overnight. Everything Beatrix knows is hidden under white — and she's never seen anything so beautiful or so strange.
About the Author
I write stories for children who notice small things — the way light falls through tall grass, how a ladybug chooses its leaf, what it means to be brave when you're very small.
Beatrix started as a doodle in a notebook. A small pumpkin-orange dragon with a red-and-cream scarf that was way too big for her. She was supposed to be a one-off sketch, but she kept showing up — in margins, on receipts, in the corners of other drawings.
The more I wrote, the more I realized Beatrix wasn't just a character. She was the feeling of being small in a big world and discovering that's okay. That's the feeling I want every reader to take away.
Beatrix's World
Beatrix's world is an overgrown garden with a weathered playhouse-castle, dappled sunlight, and a cast of tiny friends.
Practical and quick, Mouse knows every shortcut through the garden. She's always in a hurry — but never too busy for a friend.
Wise and unhurried, Toad has lived in the garden longer than anyone. He doesn't say much, but when he does, it's worth listening.
Bold and theatrical, Crow sees everything from above. She brings news from beyond the garden wall — some of it even true.
Not a character exactly, but a presence. The garden changes with every season and every hour — a weathered playhouse-castle, hidden paths, and secrets under every leaf.
